Protestant Cemetery, Penang
Another weekend in Penang, looming around town after lunch finding for a spot for photography. I used to have an idea to take some creepy photos of the cemetery and everytime passed by the cemetery near 32 Mansion really attracts me to visit it someday. This was the day 4th July 2010. The lighting was good and the surrounding is serene rather than creepy, to my surprise, this cemetery lays the great Francis Light himself. Putting some idea in mine on what kind of picture I was finding, I was able to captured these. Adding some post processing with graduated tint, b&w, high saturation, soft focus and photoshop sketching effect on one of the photos. Hope you enjoy them.

I hope the stats didn't get infected by virus and shoot up to 10K. Anyway, started my blog with the first post on June 19 2009. Just would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who visited my blog and left comments in every post. He's just not into you...
Watched the movie "He's just not into you" last night and the front portion of the movie was a bit boring as it talked about 5 women and their love life. How they were told when they are young on why guys react the way they did if they like/interested in you. I truly believe that the concept of like/love should be made a difference since young as we have our concept build since then.
The movie had several well known cast like Ben Affleck, Jennifer Aniston, Drew Barrymore, Scarlett Johanns0n, Jennifer Connelly and many more. We have 5 women and 5 guys which a bunch of them have quite a complicated relationship. I will share some snipits of the movie where he actors shared on what guys usually said which they actually it had a hidden meaning. (Maybe only applicable for US guys?) But as long as you didn't touch the "Stop" button, you will realized there are some guides to share from the movie.
Here is one of the story of this pair in the movie: Alex and Gigi
Alex is a bar owner which is surrounded by pretty girls and he actually had quite a drama to watch in his very own bar. Gigi is a office lady which is always searching for her right guy to start a relationship. Gigi met Connor (Alex's housemate) in the bar after the arrangement of her friend. During that drink, Gigi was interested in Connor which she also thinks he have the same interest in her when he extend their conversation with a second round of drink. Connor ended the date with "It is nice Meeting You" and since then Gigi had been waiting for Connor's call ever since. One day, two days and eventually a week passed. Gigi looked at her cell everyday, every hour and every second waiting for his call. She even hanged up her mum's call just to make sure that Connor was able to call when he wants to.
Finally after 10 days, Gigi went back to the Alex's bar that she found out that Connor usually hang out. With the excuse of returning a pen that Connor left behind, Gigi met Alex. Alex try to share his thoughts with Gigi on Connor's meaning of "It's nice meeting you" that Gigi didn't quite take it well but later realized the truth of the deadly sentence. Alex used to have a concept where girls like Gigi will be the "rule" in Connor's life where they will always be nice to have but still can have without. There will be an "exception" where Connor will not live without. Gigi starts on her Mr Right hunting with a bunch of guys which she shared the whole process with Alex and he became her advisor for her love life. They start to see each other every once Gigi finished her date with a guy.
One day, Alex called Gigi and said " I'm throwing a party at my place. Please come for the party. I'll introduce some bachelor for you." Gigi unhesitately said "Yes!" After hang up, Gigi starts to realized the signs. Alex might be interested in her! Why can't she realized earlier as previously Alex wanted to introduce his friend Bill to Gigi but he told Bill the date was Thursday instead Tuesday. So Alex went to the date with Gigi instead. And now, he wants her to go to his party. With an excited heart, Gigi went to Alex's party and she started to pretend that she is a special someone to Alex by acting like a co-host and serve the other guests with taco dips and beer. Finally the party was over... there only left Gigi and Alex alone at last. Gigi starts to express her feelings for Alex but he was shocked and mad. He started to scream!
" Why do woman do this? Build up stuff in their minds and take each little thing a guy does and then twist it into something else. It's insane!"
Gigi was shocked and sitting alone she starts to say "I'd rather be like that than be like you..." Alex replied with an disbelief tone "Excuse me? What's that suppose to mean?" Gigi replied "I may dissect each little thing and put myself out there too much but at least that means I still care. Oh you think you've won because woman are expendable to you? You don't fall in love that way!"
I guess you all can expect what is the ending for this two. They finally get together at the end of the movie where Alex finally realized that Gigi was his EXCEPTION.
There are some thoughts from the movie that I like it personally....
"Girls are taught a lot of stuff growing up... If a guy punches you, he likes you."
"Never try to trim your own bangs, and one day you'll meet a wonderful guy and get your very own happy ending..."
"Every movie we see, every story we're told implores us to wait for the right kind of guy..."
"The 3rd act twist: The unexpected declaration of love. The exception to the rule. But sometimes, we are so focused on finding our happy ending... We don't learn how to read the signs. How to tell the ones that wants us from the ones who don't. The ones who will stay and the ones who will leave."
"... and maybe this happy ending doesn't include a wonderful guy. Maybe it's you... on your own. Picking up the pieces and starting over. Freeing up yourself for something better in the future. Maybe the happy ending is just... moving on."
"... or maybe the happy ending is this: Knowing that through all the unreturned phone calls and broken hearts... through all the blunders... and misread signals... through all the pain and embarassment... you never, ever gave up hope..."
