EXTREME Colours...

Past few days the trees by the roadside attracted me as they were all blooming with white and pink flowers. Not really sure what the species was, so named it Sakura. The view was purr-fect for a wide angle shot. But since I didn't have any, so sticked with my kits lens and macro lens for the job. Sunday was a lazy day but still drag myself out to capture the Sakura moments. But to my surprise, the flowers were barely there. I guess it is already close to the end of the flowers' season. It's life span is only a week or two. Because of the Sakura, I started to notice some other flowers which also grew near the area. With the thought to improve my macro skill, I started to put more effort into those flowers than the Sakura. This round, I played with the extreme settings in photoshop, pick up a new technique call Burst effect. But not really sure whether it work well or not. Give me some comments ya. The rest of the photos, some might look unreal hehe... cause I changed the saturation, added shadow, twick the color settings for different feel.

Pet Portrait Shooting

Kelvin initiated to take Hua Kiong’s dog Money for pet photography during the New Year weekend. I was fortunate to get invited. =p It was kind of tiring morning as 4 hours ago I just hit my pillow. We started around 9am as stated by Sifu that is the best time to get the good lighting. Eng Lee and Hua Kiong brought their camera as well. The shoot lasted 2 hours and Money is such adorable and hyper that morning. He can’t really lay still for long, although he is panting. I guess he was excited to see us hehe…

I made a decision to help Money to get his first photo album. I was trying my best to get every angle that I can think of but still can’t compare to Sifu though. Below is my composition for Money’s first photo album and shared some individual photos. More photos in my flickr.

I hope you guys enjoy the photos and album! Finally get everything done. Phew!~

2010 New Year Countdown

It's the time of the year that we pick where to celebrate the last day of the year. Considering all the traffic jams and event, we move to Magnum Live Telecast 2010 New Year Countdown at Queensbay Mall, Penang. We selected to park at Chee Ang's condo as there were spaces for visitors. But smuggling out from the eagle eye of the guards was kind of excited. Headed out to the concert area around 7 something and the place is already starting to be flooded with early birds. All are here to catch a glimpse of their idol from Taiwan, Power Station and Tank which are known to have power house vocals. Not forgetting other artists & groups of well known and emerging malaysia artist that embrace the concert belting several crowd favourites. Seeing the artist like 林健辉, ManHand, 谢宛婷 , Jojo and others were a exhilirating feeling and proud that malaysia too have their great singers! The songs they sang was fit to my trail of favourites! Such an enjoy with superb music and friends to spend the last day of the year in collaboration.

I was not able to get some clean shots due to my height. "Should eat taller to be a photographer T_T" So, need to change some strategy during the shoots on the artiste and with my 90mm macro lens, I wasn't able to capture the glimpse of the whole stage structure though. Just able to share some shots on the artist and some surroundings. Still think sifu's shot was better than mine. I still use previous photoshop frames to arrange my photos.
